Thermodynamic Properties of Individual Substances : O, H(D,T), F, Cl, Br, I, He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, Rn, S, N, P and Their Compounds

Hardcover: 880 pages ; Dimensions (in inches): 11.50 x 2.25 x 9.00
Publisher: Taylor & Francis; 4th (parts 1 and 2) edition (March 1, 1989)
ISBN: 0891167609

Volume one consists of two books, textual and tabular, which cover elements O, H (D,T), F, Cl, Br, I, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, Rn, S, N, P, and their compounds. In the first book, problems associated with the critical choice of constants (molecular and thermochemical) used for calculating the tables of thermodynamic properties of a given substance, are considered. Also discussed are the accuracy of these constants in relation to the calculation of the corresponding thermal functions and the estimation of the reliability of the tabulated quantities. Data are grouped into sections, each of which is devoted to one substance in the condensed or gaseous state. Values of the constants are presented in each chapter. Book two gives tables of thermodynamic properties for all substances presented in that volume. Nomenclature and symbols recommended by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) are used. Eighty-two pages of references. Acidic paper. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.

Thermodynamic Properties of Individual Substances: Elements C, Si, Ge, Sn, Pb, and Their Compounds, Volume 2, Parts One and Two (Thermodynamic Properties of Individual Substances)

Hardcover: 965 pages
Publisher: John Benjamins Publishing Co; 4th edition (October 1, 1990)
ISBN: 0891165339

Translated, revised, and updated from the third Russian edition (Nauka, Moscow, 1979). The second of five volumes, each in two parts, Volume 2 deals with the properties of five elements (carbon, silicon, germanium, tin, and lead) and their compounds with oxygen, hydrogen, halogens, sulfur, and nitrogen. The first part is devoted to methods and calculations. Part 2 contains 304 tables with thermodynamic properties of the substances. Acidic paper. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.

Dana - Two of the authors of the series are now dead, and the group in
Moscow that did the work lost its funding in the 1990s. It appears that
Volumes 4 and 5 were never completed. You may learn something from Vladimir
Yungman (, who took over the group when Lev
Gurvich died.
