From: Robert Michaelson Date: 6 Apr 2001 This month's Physics Today has, in the "Reference Frame" column, an article by Michael Berry about special functions. (See http://physicstoday.org/pt/vol-54/iss-4/p11.html ). After talking about classic sources such as Jahnke & Emde, Abramowitz & Stegun, etc., Berry mentions that he is writing a chapter for a new online source from NIST: the (forthcoming) Digital Library of Mathematical Functions (DLMF) at http://dlmf.nist.gov/ . Although there don't seem to be any completed chapters on this web site at the moment, when completed it should prove to be a most valuable source for mathematical physicists, theoretical chemists, and anyone else who uses mathematical calculations.
