美国化学理事会 (American Chemistry Council)


     The American Chemistry Council represents the leading companies engaged in the business of chemistry. Council members apply the science of chemistry to make innovative products and services that make people's lives better, healthier and safer. The Council is committed to improved environmental, health and safety performance through Responsible Care, common sense advocacy designed to address major public policy issues, and health and environmental research and product testing. The business of chemistry is a $435 billion enterprise and a key element of the nation's economy. It is the nation's largest exporter, accounting for ten cents out of every dollar in U.S. exports. Chemistry companies invest more in research and development than any other business sector.

As set forth under Article II of American Chemistry Council's Bylaws, the purpose of the Association shall be the promotion of the interests of the chemical manufacturing industry of the United States of America and Canada.

The chemical industry will be highly valued by
society for its leadership, the benefits of its products, and
the ethical and responsible manner in which it conducts

By leveraging members' resources, the American Chemistry Council will achieve our members'
objectives in the United States and globally.

By creating member value, the American Chemistry Council will be the premier
industry association. To carry out its mission, it will employ
top quality staff and use the most cost-effective manage
ment methods.

American Chemistry Council's two key mission elements are:
Responsible Care leadership and assistance to members
and Partners in improving performance and earning the
public's trust.

Advocacy that develops, promotes and defends consensus
chemical industry policies, positions and practices in
appropriate forums.

Other important mission elements include:
Outreach that informs key audiences of the chemical
industry's contributions to individual and society well-being.

Research that provides essential information on the health,
safety, environmental and economic impacts of our
products and operations.

Public service that provides information, training materials
and assistance in understanding the chemical industry and in
safely managing its products throughout their life cycle.

Member services that bring benefits and savings to American Chemistry Council members.
